Google: other websites can outrank you with your own content

A webmaster complained on Twitter that a post that he published on Medium.com outranked the original post on his own blog. Google’s John Mueller said that this can happen:

If you post the same content in two places, we have to show one of them above the other – we can’t show them side-by-side.— 🍌 John 🍌 (@JohnMu) October 7, 2020
